Farm & Fancy Open Draft Horse Hitch Show
A 2-Day Show
LaPorte County Draft Horse Association is in the planning stages of our 10th Annual
Farm and Fancy Hitch Show. Our local, non-profit, organization is one that is dedicated
to promoting through public exhibition and education, the history and value of the draft
breeds while demonstrating their value in agriculture as well as
pleasure.
Last year’s show was such a great success, with exhibitors from several states across
the country including Wyoming, that we expect this years show to be even bigger and
better. We will be anticipating great competition in fancy and farm carts, wagons with
two and four draft hitches, leading up to our feature classes demonstrating fancy and
farm horse wagon hitches. This class is a favorite with the spectators as the
competitors the last 10 years have been quality teams that have given them a breath
taking exhibition. Last year we added a junior driving class for ages 14 and under. This
year we are separating this even farther. This class will be called the “Mini Junior
Drivers” and the age limit will be 5-9. This class will let those youngsters that do a lot of
the dirty work have a hand at driving with a qualified adult driver at their side.

The competition begins on Friday, July 23 at 12 pm and continues on Saturday, July 24
at 12:00 noon.
